The Clearwater Mural by Fine Artist, Ana Livingston
Over the course of 45 days, and even through the threat of two tropical storms, local fine artist and muralist, Ana Livingston, brought to life Clearwater's most intensely-vibrant mural to date.
The west-facing wall is located at Honka Automotive
(1266 Court Street) in the East Gateway District, and many hundreds of
passersby are treated daily to a brilliant, whimsical scene as they
cross over Missouri Street in their travels east.
The original design concept was the brainchild of local graphic and web design extraordinaire, Ian Phoenix. Ian multi-tasks as the Creative Director at a web development company here in Clearwater, as well as running his own successful original design t-shirt & accessories company, Shadefyre.
Armed with nothing more than scaffolding, paint, her brushes, and
talent, she's brought Ian's concept to life as a broad landscape of rich
hues that portrays the famous Memorial Causeway bridge, seagulls flying
high, and everyone's favorite: a mother and baby dolphin frolicking in
the waves.
Bring the kids and stop by for a closer look—it's her beautiful gift to Clearwater!
